Skyfall was the first James Bond movie to use drones for filming aerial footage. Quicker, safer, and cheaper, are the selling points today, for incorporating UAVs in aerial photography and cinematography. The effectiveness and lower cost of UAVs on television and film sets, allow filmmakers and photojournalist to minimize the use of manned helicopters, which can cost as much as $2500 per shoot. UAVs also have the ability to go where a manned aircraft cannot. With endless possibilities and creative options, UAV shoots can turn a good article into a great one, or add note-worthy cinematograph to a movie, leaving the reader or viewer wondering – “how did they do that”.
